A PERFECT FIT!
Dear Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois,
It is with great pleasure that I write this message to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois in regards to my son's Big Brother Mike Glisson.
My son Danny and Mike have been matched for over a year and a half. It takes a special person to find time out of their lives to spend with a young man and you can believe Mike is no ordinary man. Here is a man with 4 children of his own, yet not a week goes by that he doesn't call Danny or spend time with him. His whole family has not only embraced Danny but my daughter Kelly and I as well.
The best way I can describe Mike is that he is like those old pair of sweat pants that you put on every night because they make you feel comfortable. He loves life and people and is an absolute joy to be around. He is a wonderful man with a big heart.
Mike has clearly exceeded our expectations as to what a Big Brother is all about. He is a very successful attorney and has become an extraordinary mentor and role model for my son. Danny is learning from Mike that if you work hard and treat people with respect, you will be rewarded. Our reward is his friendship.
I can't begin to tell you how pleased and honored we are to know Mike and his family. It is my wish that Mike and Danny will have a relationship that will last a lifetime.

Recently we received this letter from the mother of one of our Little Brothers. You are a partner with us in the success of this match. It takes all of us to create successful matches. Donors, volunteers, board members or business partners each play a role in making sure that every child who wants and needs a mentor has one - just like Little Brother Danny.
I am grateful to each of you who help us change how children grow up in our communities.
